Welcome to The Mulberry Tree Restaurant, nestled in the picturesque area of Tsilivi, Planos. Our charming restaurant is a family-run haven where the finest ingredients meet culinary artistry. Led by chef Alex, who with the guidance of his father, experienced chef Lakis, delivers a dining experience that feels and tastes extraordinary.

A Culinary Legacy
Three Generations, Three Restaurants

The story of The Mulberry Tree is rooted in a rich culinary tradition that spans three generations and two islands. It all began in 1968 in Garitsa, Corfu, when Mary and Spiros Bouas opened the iconic taverna Paradeisos. For a decade, their restaurant became a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike—a true celebration of authentic Greek hospitality and flavor.

Years later, in 1984, their son Lakis Bouas and his wife Diana brought that same spirit to Zakynthos. Together, they opened The Olive Tree in Tsilivi, a restaurant that would go on to define the island’s food scene for nearly four decades. With warmth, dedication, and a deep respect for Greek culinary heritage, Lakis and Diana created a place filled with unforgettable meals and memories.

In 2022, after 38 successful years, The Olive Tree served its final guests—but the family’s story was far from over. Their son, Alex Bouas, who had trained under his father in The Olive Tree kitchen, had already begun forging his own path. His passion for food and natural talent led him to London, where he honed his skills in some of the city's finest restaurants.

Now, with The Mulberry Tree, Chef Alex Bouas brings the family’s legacy into a new era. Drawing on the knowledge passed down through generations and combining it with his own modern approach, Alex creates dishes that honor tradition while embracing innovation. With a focus on the island’s exceptional local ingredients and his own refined culinary vision, he is redefining what Greek cuisine can be in every plate that he creates.
